Firefighters visited the grammar schools during Fire Prevention Week to stress

the importance of fire safety. Topics covered were: 911, smoke detectors, 

"Stop, Drop, and Roll", testing a closed door for heat, fire drills, staging areas,

fire extinguishers, and "the firefighter is your friend". The firefighter turnout gear and SCBA

were also demonstrated.
